In 2021–2022, the total value of plastics and related materials exported was US$ 13.34 billion. This represented a 33.4% increase over the US$ 10 billion in exports in 2020–21. The greatest export category in 2021–2022 was plastic raw materials, which accounted for 30.7% of all exports and increased by 26.5% from the year before. The second-largest category, plastic films and sheets, accounted for 15.2% of all exports and had a 32.7% increase from the previous year.
India’s linoleum and plastic exports were valued at US$ 1,073 million in May 2022. Plastics used in medical applications, plastic films and sheets, plastic pipes and fittings, fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) and composites, packaging materials, cordage fishnets and monofilaments, and other miscellaneous products all saw significant growth during that time. To reach US$ 2,173 million, the total exports for April and May of 2022 increased 2.6% YoY.
